Fine Dining Recommendations

Astoria-

The Silver Salmon- This delightful little hideaway is located on Commercial Blvd in downtown Astoria, Oregon. This restaurant specialized in serving Pacific Northwest classics in new and innovative ways. An example of this, and one of my favorite menu items, is the smoked salmon fettuccine alfredo. The atmosphere is very intimate, but casual, so don't worry about digging out a formal jacket and tie. Prices are reasonable for the excellent items offered.

Seaside-

The Shilo Inn Oceanfront- The Shilo Inn Oceanfront property is located right at the turnaround where Broadway, the main downtown street in Seaside, meets the beach. The restaurant side of this restaurant/hotel is located closest to the road on the south side of the hotel. Park in the garage right next to the hotel. There is a nice selection of Northwest dishes on the menu as well as all-American classic menu items. The prices are slightly high, but it is the nicest place to eat in Seaside with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean while you dine. The atmosphere is casual so you can leave the tie, if you even brought one, in the suitcase.

Cannon Beach-

JP's- This is by far my favorite restaurant in all of Oregon. Located on South Hemlock Street in the tiny downtown area of Cannon Beach this family owned and operated restaurant has one of the greatest cooks and staff I have ever encountered. Menu items sometimes change, but past examples of what you might find on the menu are crab or blue cheese stuffed fillet mignon, as well as exquisite salads, heavenly desserts, and a wine list to match everything on the menu. Current menu items include parmesan stuffed fillet mignon and a delicious black forest salad. If you only eat at one of my recommended restaurants I hope it is this one. It is worth the small drive to Cannon Beach. The prices are well in-line with the menu items, and I wouldn't stroll into this restaurant with shorts and flip-flops on, but a tie is not necessary either. A nice polo shirt is sufficient to keep you from sticking out, although their sign in the window says that there strict dress code is "No Naked People." Bon appetite!

Fast Dining Recommendations

Astoria-

Pig N' Pancake- Great place for everything breakfast related. They also serve lunch and dinner. It is not unlike a Denny's for those of you that know what that is. A well established restaurant that has been there as long as I can remember. It is centrally near the Astoria-Megler Bridge right off of Marine Drive. Prices are minimal.

Fultano's Pizza- Ask any Astorian what the best pizza in the world is and they will say "Fultano's Pizza!" It is owned and operated by a friend of mine, Mark Carey, and serves the greatest pizza I've ever had. It is located on Marine Drive and 7th Street on the opposite side of the hill from downtown Astoria proper. I highly recommend their Taco Pizza, Mona Lisa, and their Hawaiian. Prices are comperable to other pizza restaurants, if not a little cheaper.

Astoria also has McDonald's, KFC, Pizza Hut, Subway Sandwich Shop, Dairy Queen, and Burger King

Seaside-

Pig N' Pancake- Located on Broadway, which is the main street in downtown Seaside, this offers everything that the location in Astoria offers with a slightly newer building. Prices are minimal.

Doogers- A great place to try some of the local seafood cuisine it is located right after the little bridge on Broadway, the main street in downtown Seaside. I highly recommend their clam chowder. Reasonable prices for great food.

Seaside also has a McDonald's, Taco Time, Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, and a Dairy Queen.
Cannon Beach-

Mo's- Known for its phenomenal clam chowder Mo's is easy to find in the small downtown area of Cannon Beach. They also have a nice selection of Northwest favorites at reasonable prices.

Fultano's Pizza- Located on the main street headed toward the beach Fultano's Pizza has the greatest pizza I've ever had, and as anyone is the greater Astoria area will tell you. See the information in the Astoria listings I wrote above for specific recommendations.

There are no fast food restaurants located in Cannon Beach.
